Nathan Aspinall marries long-time partner Kirsty as Luke Humphries leads host of PDC stars attending Cheshire wedding

For Nathan Aspinall, last weekend was a rare break from doubles, averages and prize money. The 35-year-old Englishman married his long-time partner Kirsty on Saturday, August 8, with a sizeable contingent from the darts world making the trip to Cheshire for the occasion.

Aspinall and Kirsty tied the knot at Peckforton Castle. The couple have been together for many years and have two daughters, Brooke and Milly.

There was always likely to be a strong PDC presence at the wedding. Aspinall had previously revealed that around 20 people from the darts world had been invited, and footage from the celebrations showed that plenty of familiar faces had made the trip.

Luke Humphries, Daryl Gurney, Dave Chisnall, Jonny Clayton, Ross Smith, John Henderson, Joe Cullen and Chris Dobey were among those in attendance, with several appearing in footage shared by Humphries on Instagram.

Many of the guests are more accustomed to seeing one another in the players' room at PDC tournaments, but Aspinall was keen for his wedding day not to revolve around his profession.

The Englishman had already explained that he and Kirsty had agreed to keep darts talk to a minimum during the celebrations. His wife, Aspinall joked, already has to hear enough about the sport in everyday life.

The timing of the wedding also worked well around the darts calendar. It came after the World Matchplay and before the international schedule begins to gather pace again, allowing more of Aspinall's fellow players to be there.

Humphries was among those able to make the trip, although Luke Littler was absent. Aspinall had already confirmed that the world number one would be unable to attend as he had travelled to Florida with his family.

For several of those at the wedding, it was not the first time this summer they had joined Aspinall for celebrations ahead of the big day. The former UK Open champion previously headed to Ibiza for his stag party, with Dobey, Smith and Cullen among those joining him on the Spanish island.

During the trip, the group also happened to cross paths with several England women's footballers, who were enjoying their own celebrations in Ibiza.
