Nathan Aspinall has done it! The lad from down the road in Stockport claims his first nightly win of 2025 to hoist himself right into contention for Premier League Darts play-offs usurping Michael van Gerwen. He defeated Luke Humphries 6-4 in Manchester.

Aspinall who won his maiden European Tour recently has completed various firsts as of late and has gained his confidence back after issues with his throwing arm for some time. But he came back to show his dogged fighting spirit again.

He came back from 3-0 down with darts for 4-0 for Humphries who hit the third highest average in the history of the Premier League Darts earlier tonight. But Aspinall couldn't be denied as his epic form continues.

Humphries broke with a 12-darter hitting a 69 checkout to breeze through the opening two legs. Aspinall was continuing to falter as Humphries missed 78 but he returned to hold with Aspinall nowhere near.

Aspinall hit a 180 but missed two darts to hold. Humphries took aim at 65 but couldn't hit the 25 and only got one dart at double 20 which he missed. Aspinall returned to hold.

Humphries couldn't get the second dart at 156 and Aspinall had double 18 begging for a 10-darter. He missed it but returned for 11 for a break to make it 3-2.

Aspinall took aim at 87 for a hold to make it 3-3. He missed two at double 18. Humphries had 136 but couldn't get a dart at the outer ring. So he was relying on Aspinall misses.

Aspinall pinned double 18 first time for 3-3. Humphries missed a blocked bull for 80 but Aspinall couldn't get a dart at 90 and was spraying darts around the board.

Humphries was let off the hook but wriggled back onto it as Aspinall had a go at 66. He had one dart at double 16 and pinned it for 4-3. Aspinall missed double 16 for 154 but he returned for 5-3.

Humphries missed 125 on double 20 as he looked to get himself going but he pinned double 10 on return to stop the rot at 5-4. Aspinall went six darts into a nine-dart finish but the incredulous scoring saw him leave 36 for the win.

Humphries missed 170 to send it all the way and Aspinall returned only to miss more match darts. Humphries missed more darts to send it all the way and Aspinall returned to finally seal it.
