Michael Smith and Peter Wright have successfully navigated their way through to the Quarter-Finals of the Bahrain Darts Masters on Friday after victories over Abdulnasser Yusuf and Toru Suzuki.
Smith got his first walk-on as the reigning World Champion and World Number One and was smiling ear to ear and he continued that winning feeling against Bahraini qualifier, Abdulnasser Yusuf who posed little threat to 'Bully Boy'.
He pinned two ton plus checkouts including a superb 131 to go 5-0 up using two double 20's and from there, he chased round the board missing multiple match darts with Yusuf claiming a consolation leg but it was Smith who sealed it 6-1 from there.
While for Wright who disappointed at the World Darts Championship, he will aim to kick start his season with World Series glory. He started with a 6-3 win over Toru Suzuki.
Suzuki has qualified for the World Championship multiple times and was a potentially dangerous qualifier for one of the seeds but Wright prevailed despite double trouble.
He missed 18 darts at double throughout the contest but was superb on the scoring phase with five 180's and a 94.6 average and now moves through alongside Smith.
