Van Barneveld marks World Series return by easing past Yamada, Clayton eases past local qualifier Mahmood with 103 average

Raymond van Barneveld and Jonny Clayton have completed the line-up for tomorrow's Quarter-Finals at the Bahrain Darts Masters with no shocks on the opening night in the Middle East.

Van Barneveld is making his World Series return seemingly filling the Dutch void left by Michael van Gerwen who is not playing due to a family holiday this week but 'Barney' made the most of his chance seeing off Yuki Yamada in a 6-2 win.

Luke Humphries now awaits after a routine win which featured a 98.2 average and four 180's for the doyen of Dutch darts who will return again tomorrow.

As will Clayton who produced the performance of the day averaging 103 in a 6-0 win over local qualifier Bassim Mahmood.

Mahmood only averaged 78 hitting one 1`80 and even having darts to stave off the whitewash but it was a clinical display from 'The Ferret' who hit a high checkout of 134 en route as well as the bull for a 122 checkout in the following leg.
