New Zealand Darts Masters 2026 Prize Money explained: How much can Gian van Veen, Gerwyn Price and James Wade earn for winning Auckland title?

The New Zealand Darts Masters is set for its return between 14-15 August, 2026. It will feature 16 players vying for £100,000 in total prize money, with £30,000 for the winner.

Gian van Veen leads the field, but he does not lead the Order of Merit, with Michael van Gerwen, the champion in Bahrain and also Copenhagen leading. Albeit MVG as well as Luke Littler and Luke Humphries aren't playing either in Australia or New Zealand. MVG next plays on the World Series at Amsterdam defending his Finals title. Luke Humphries will be the defending champion, having defeated Nathan Aspinall 8–6 in the 2025 final.
As well as Van Veen, Gerwyn Price also makes his way atop the field leading the way alongside Stephen Bunting, James Wade, Jonny Clayton, Josh Rock, Ross Smith and Damon Heta.
Adam Leek, Simon Whitlock, Ben Robb, Jonny Tata, Mark Cleaver, Kayden Milne, Haupai Puha and Raymond Smith take part in Auckland as part of the qualifier field.

While the Prize Money for the World Series of Darts Finals has increased from £400,000 to £450,000 for this next season, this is not the case for the main events in the year. The winner will claim £30,000 for sealing the title, while it will be £16,000 for the runner-up. Semi-finalists receive £10,000. While Quarter-Finals also known as the second round is £5,000.

First round losers receive £1,750. Order of Merit points wise, these go towards the World Series of Darts Finals which will take place in Amsterdam in November. Unlike Saudi Arabia which had the nine-dart bonus and also the Riyadh Season Bullseye, the further events do not have that.

- I just think Aspinall loves the razzmatazz rather than real darts, goes on about his walk on and the premier league, loves exhibitions and proposed a 'royal rumble' and i'm not sure if it was him that suggested a Ryder Cup style tournament? - I play at home against myself, sometimes on Dartcounter, never played league or county. My best average on 501 was 107 which I hit last year. Today I was averaging 94 on a few games of 501, no warm up, just a quick chuck after dinner. I imagine it's a bit different up on stage. I play well at home though and do pretty good for only around 20 minutes play per day. 🙂PaulC02-08-2026
- Indeed I've been to Dublin on numerous occasion the atmosphere was electric and the crowd were always pumped plus the City West was a cool venue. It was a good week away The double start and finish is different and actually very enjoyable but a week in a nothing happening crime riddled city in a soulless stadium does not appeal. - I really enjoyed the Women's Matchplay, Beau seemed slightly nervous but when it mattered, she hit the big scores and required check outs. Both Gemma and Fallon had her on the ropes and were equally unlucky. I wonder what ever happened to Gemma's partner Stephanie Smee, she was a decent player that just disappeared. Good to see her. I would like to see a longer format maybe over Saturday and Sunday.
