Nicholson claims final Icons of Darts League group win on leg difference over Jenkins and Huckvale

Nicholson has been in imperious form this week claiming 16 wins from 20 matches and after three weeks in the competition has finally claimed the overall title.

On the final day, there were victories over Diogo Portela (5-1), Arron Monk (5-3) and Adam Huckvale (5-3) with his only defeat coming against to Andy Jenkins in a 5-2 defeat.

Jenkins could have claimed the group himself and needed only a win in his final game to do so but he lost out in a 5-3 defeat to Adam Huckvale meaning he finished second on leg difference.

Huckvale had his best day in the competition and again only finished third on leg difference after three wins and one defeat on the final day.

The Icons of Darts League is a competition that runs on 24 different days from Monday April 6 through to Saturday May 2. Each playing week consists of six players. There are five players on each matchday with one player taking a rest.

Each day consists of four matches for each player with the player with the most wins claiming the group win for that day.
