The Grand Slam of Darts kicks off in Wolverhampton on Saturday. Raymond van Barneveld managed to qualify through the qualifying tournament last Sunday.
Van Barneveld is in a group with Gerwyn Price, Dave Chisnall and Ted Evetts. "He has surprisingly good stats against both Price and Chisnall. Although I have to say that most of the wins date back several years," said Viaplay commentator Jacques Nieuwlaat.
Crucial match
The 55-year-old Dutchman, who won the tournament in 2012, meets Chisnall in his first pool match. "That will be a crucial match," says Nieuwlaat. "But Raymond has been looking fresh lately and he often succeeds when he sets his sights on something. So I think he and Price will survive this group."
