This year multiple players have lost their ever present status in major ranked tournaments, two of those losing their status and will not be featuring in the Grand Slam of Darts this weekend is James Wade and Gary Anderson.
The pair won't appear in the tournament for different reasons, Gary Anderson needed to play in the Grand Slam of Darts qualifier to get into the tournament, however he didn't even participate to give himself the chance of qualifying.
Where as James Wade did participate in the qualifier but was unsuccessful as he lost to Zonneveld in the last 32 of the qualifying round.
Now that the pair are no longer playing in the tournament it now means that their record of playing in all 16 of the Grand Slam of Darts tournaments has now come to an end.
However they aren't the only two to have lost their ever present status in specific tournaments this year. Wayne Jones lost his for the UK Open, the Englishman had played in every tournament since it was founded in 2003 up until this year when he didn't participate in the event.
The fourth and final player to lose his record this year is Mervyn King, the World No.24 has missed his first European Darts Championship this year since it was founded in 2008.
