Niko Springer wins tenth Development Tour tournament at the expense of Gian van Veen

Niko Springer clinched a PDC Development Tour title for the first time in his career on Sunday. The German won in the final of Development Tour 10 over Gian van Veen, who did manage to consolidate his first spot on the Development Tour rankings again.

Springer made it to the final by successively defeating Benedikt Bielert (4-1), Bence Horvath (4-0), Revelino Dubios (4-1), Connor Arberry (4-0), Owen Roelofs (4-2), Henry Coates (5-2) and Jannis Barkhausen (5-2). He then won 5-2 over Van Veen in the final.

The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.

At each Development Tour tournament, there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2025 and 2026. The ranking winner also gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
