Nine-dart finish record broken: After only seven months more perfect legs hit than whole of 2018

Andy Jenkins threw the 30th nine-dart finish of the season earlier today during a Challenge Tour event in Peterborough which in turn broke the record for the amount hit ever over the course of the year.

This after only seven months of the season and it eclipses the amount thrown in both 2015 and 2018 which was 29.
Michael van Gerwen, James Wade, Gerwyn Price and Steve Beaton have all hit them on the European Tour; which is surprising in itself given before last year a nine-dart finish had not been thrown in five years which coined the term 'The Curse of Ross Smith'.
Twelve players have thrown perfect legs on the Players Championship series this season; with the rest coming through Qualifying events for European Tours, Development Tour, Challenge Tour with some also thrown in the international tournaments such as the PDC Asian Tour.
Van Gerwen despite him not showing the peak of his powers this year and not playing in as many events is the only player to have thrown three nine darters this year. Dave Chisnall, Ted Evetts, Geert Nentjes and Ritchie Edhouse have all thrown two this year themselves.
