Van Gerwen defeated Adrian Lewis once again in a match that was an epic and included the first nine-dart finish in over a year as he won in another last-leg decider over 'Jackpot'.
It could be a pivotal win for Van Gerwen; with shocks aplenty occurring all around Minehead. He could be in the clear potentially to head towards another title win as a result.
Also on the main stage, Dobey stormed to a 6-0 whitewash of James Wilson as the latter could not recapture his form from the opening day.
'Hollywood' as a result hit a 95 average and 6/9 doubles in a polished display as he did what he needed to do against 'Jammie Dodger'.
On Stage Two, William O'Connor pulled off an impressive 6-3 win over third seed Krzysztof Ratajski with a 96 average as he continued his relatively good form as of late.
Also Glen Durrant came through a closely ran tie with Max Hopp with him surviving two match darts in the deciding leg hitting double one to seal a 6-5 victory. The action comes towards it's conclusion with two more games on both stages.
