Bobby George has told Luke Littler to remain grounded in the face of his continued fame and also winning £1million for scooping the PDC World Darts Championship title.
In only the manner that George can give, he told Littler to not buy flash cars, not let hangers on in and to just have his bubblegum and not grow up. As the King of Bling, George has had his niceties in life but is now offering advice to the new kid on the oche.
Littler won £1million for successfully defending his PDC World Darts Championship. George on the otherhand earned just £16,000 for his runner-up finish at Lakeside in 1994. First round losers walked away with just a little bit less this year than what George scooped previously.
But while George himself said no girls, Littler already has a girlfriend in beautician Faith Millar who he has been with for nearly a year and was seen by his side lifting the title as well as crying as he won his second World title and is from the local area where Littler lives. But the overriding message from George is to avoid the distractions and remain 18 while he still can instead of growing up too soon despite the spotlight and pressure put onto him.
"Don't grow up. You'll never be skint if you don't grow up. No girls, no flash cars, no hangers-on. Just do your f***ing thing and have your bubble gum," he said to Daily Mail.
"He doesn't think he's too young. When you're that age, you think you're the captain of the ship. He is at darts, but ships can sink. Look at the Titanic. In darts, you can go from hero to zero overnight."
Littler in a way is following George's advice albeit not by design because he has to. He bought his dream car earlier this year after multiple failed driving tests and has to put a year on the insurance before he changes that one.

Can't buy new car yet as Littler set to spend on other items

He said he'd spend a portion of the cash on Panini stickers and cards as a avid collector and also watcher of the streams in which they buy the player cards and if they get them they get to keep said card e.g a Cristiano Ronaldo one or even Littler's own Panini one with box breaks on TikTok live being heavily watched.
He also said that he'd perhaps treat his girlfriend. Albeit Littler won't keep all of the cash anyway with the taxman likely to account for a huge chunk as well as sponsors/management etc albeit not exactly terrible even if he doesn't keep the whole £1m to have at 18. Littler too has admitted it was about legacy and not about the money with the chance to complete a feat that Gary Anderson was the last to do over a decade ago which was more vital.
"I said yesterday [after the final], I can't buy a new car yet. I'll have to get a year on the insurance before changing that one," he said.
"Ever since coming into the tournament, everyone's talked about the prize money. But for myself, just going back-to-back [was the most important thing]... It was a decade ago since Gary did it.
"All eyes were on me. I was in good form coming into the tournament and that's why when I went back-to-back."
