Noppert gives honest assessment of final defeat in Amsterdam: ‘I just didn’t have enough’

Danny Noppert reached the final at the World Series of Darts Finals but as is often the case, he was eased past by Michael Van Gerwen.
Despite that, Noppert was pleased to reach the latter stages and said that he just didn’t have enough against Van Gerwen.
He hopes though that this can give him confidence going into further majors and that he can go one step further next time.
“I am very happy with getting to the final,” said Noppert.
“It was great for me but in the end I just didn’t have enough and it was very tough against Michael.
“I have confidence and I hope this will help me in the future, I’m disappointed to lose but proud of the way I played this weekend.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
