Van Gerwen ‘very pleased’ to claim World Series of Darts Finals title in front of home crowd

Michael van Gerwen once again produced in a major final easing past Danny Noppert at the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam.
Van Gerwen said that due to the crowd he is so pleased to have produced another big performance for them and win another title.
He also gave praise to Noppert saying that he is sure he will continue his form in a similar vein and will be back.
“It’s been another phenomenal tournament for me,” said Van Gerwen.
“The crowd here were fantastic, and I am very pleased to have produced a good performance for them and win myself another title”
“Danny also played a superb tournament and I am sure we will see more of him on the big stages in the future.”

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
