Noppert seals commanding win over Dobey, Bunting edges past Searle in decider at European Darts Open

For the most part, the seeded players have found it tough on Saturday afternoon but in the case of Danny Noppert, he eased through his opener against Chris Dobey to stop the rot at the European Darts Open.

Doubts have been sent the way of 'Noppie' recently after some poor form after winning his first title of the season but he dispelled those with a 6-2 win.

It was a 96.88 average for the former UK Open champion including three 180's, 40% on the doubles and a high checkout of 104 with Dobey averaging just 80 and struggling on the outer ring with 2/9. It ends a great few days for 'Hollywood' after his Premier League homecoming but he will now leave Leverkusen.

While Stephen Bunting as ever produced a plucky win over Ryan Searle to end the afternoon's action. He held his nerve in a decider 6-5 and takes his spot in Sunday's action.

A nip and tuck game throughout, he went 5-4 up with an 81 checkout but after multiple missed match darts, Searle made it 5-5 but in the decider, 'The Bullet' left no doubt on double 20 for a 13-darter.
