O'Connor is fresh off the back of a superb World Cup of Darts and continue that rich vein of form with a 6-3 win over the in-form Woodhouse who has played some excellent darts this year.
'The Magpie' though was impressive particularly on the scoring smashing in six 180's on the way to victory. Interestingly enough, he defeated Woodhouse last time he claimed a title; could it be a good omen for the Irishman??
Aspinall was also safely through in his first round tie by the same scoreline against Mick Todd. He hit a brilliant 160 checkout en route and averaged 100 with 6/8 on the doubles meaning an all round brilliant performance by the Asp.
He will be back tomorrow to face Simon Whitlock in the second round and with no Michael van Gerwen this weekend, he could be a serious danger.
