William O'Connor has reached his maiden PDC major semi-final at the 2022
UK Open after ending the run of the young Pole, Sebastian Bialecki in a deciding leg win.
O'Connor pounced after Bialecki missed double 15 for a 150 checkout in the deciding leg by taking out 89 to prevail 10-9 and he will return for the semi-finals later.
Prior to that, it was a dream start for Bialecki as he opened up a 2-0 lead punishing missed doubles from O'Connor. O'Connor kept on his tail at the first break but Bialecki went 5-3 up with a 127 checkout on the bull.
But his level dropped and O'Connor extended his lead to 7-5. He continued to cement a two-leg lead gong 8-6 up but Bialecki went back-to-back to make it 8-8 and make for an interesting conclusion.
O'Connor went one away but Bialecki took out 95 to send it to a decider in which he missed a dart for the match and O'Connor made him pay to move through.
