O'Connor on reaching maiden TV ranking Quarter-Final in Minehead: 'I have my chance now and I want to take it'

William O'Connor has reached the Quarter-Finals at the Players Championship Finals in Minehead and will take on Ian White this afternoon.
O'Connor defeated Gabriel Clemens in a closely ran tie 10-7 and will look to go even further later today. It is a chance that O'Connor said afterwards he firmly wants to take despite admitting himself consistency is an issue with him.
He also called the victory over the in-form German huge and that he is going to prepare solely for his tie with White.
"Gabriel has been in savage form so it's a huge game to get over him, and I'll prepare for one big game on Sunday now in the last eight and see how that goes," said O'Connor.
"I want to be more consistent and I have to work on that, but I have my chance now and I want to take it."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
