In 'On This Day in...' Darts News looks back at a player's event or achievement on a particular date. This time a return to June 12, 2005.
On this particular instance, Phil Taylor hit a nine-dart finish for the second time at the UK Open. His opponent was Roland Scholten who at the time was the defending champion.
Taylor quickly took a 4-1 lead against the Dutchman and after Scholten hit a 180, 'The Power' replied with two of his own followed by a 141 checkout.
In the end, he won 11-6 and followed this up by seeing off Mark Walsh in the final.
