PDC Asian Championship remains on calendar for 2023

The PDC Asian Championship will return in 2023. Last year saw the first edition of this event, with the four semi-finalists allowed to compete at the World Darts Championship and the winner even at the Grand Slam of Darts. That winner became Christian Perez, who also recently won a Tour Card at Q-School.

However, these rewards will now be distributed on the PDC Asian Tour, which returns to the calendar after three seasons due to the corona pandemic. However, this return will not affect the existence of the PDC Asian Championship.

The tournament will be held from 5 to 8 October in Shimonoseki, Japan. Four more qualifying tournaments will be played during the first two days of play.

A total of 48 players will compete in the PDC Asian Championship. The top-16 of the Asian Tour Order of Merit are automatically qualified for the main tournament. A few more national qualifying tournaments are then organised, after which 16 more spots can be earned during the final four qualifiers.

On 7 October, the PDC Asian Championship starts with a group stage. The sixteen group winners advance to the last sixteen, after which the tournament continues in a knockout format. On Sunday 8 October, the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be played, after which it will be known which Asian player will go home with the top prize of $15,000.
