PDC bans Vincent van der Voort from participating in Dutch Open Darts

Vincent van der Voort had planned to pair up with his son Kevin at the Dutch Open Darts, but that plan is off. The darter from Purmerend did not receive the necessary permission from the rival association PDC.

Van der Voort had consultations with the PDC last weekend, but this did not have the desired result. The Dutch Open Darts is organized by the WDF and is broadcasted on television and livestream. According to the contracts of players with the PDC, Tour Card holders are not allowed to participate in tournaments of other organizations.

''It's just not allowed. I can take it up again, but then I have to report to the DRA (disciplinary committee) again. I don't feel like that,'' Van der Voort told Sportnieuws.nl.

In February, Van der Voort is expected in Wigan for the start of the Pro Tour season. On Feb. 12 and 13, the first Players Championship tournaments of the season will be played.
