PDC Calendar 2027 Unveiled: Brand new major unveiled as European Tour also takes event to France for first time

The PDC Calendar has been unveiled for 2027, with the main highlight being the introduction of the European Open, a brand new major which has long been mooted. A visit to France for the first time will also headline a packed slate.

The European Tour will visit France for the first time in 2027 and will host a tournament in Lievin between March 19 and 21. The historic visit to France will also be joined by tournaments in Kiel, Krakow and Riesa around that time with Germany, Austria, Czechia, Slovakia, Belgium, Switzerland, Hungary and the Netherlands as ever on the slate for 2027 too.

Albeit the big news perhaps is yet another major which takes place the week after the World Cup of Darts in the European Open, which will be in Salzburg between 18 and 20 June. The new three-day event will follow the World Cup of Darts, which will return to Frankfurt between June 10 and 13. Then the World Matchplay will take place between July 17 and 25.

There are no confirmed dates for the PDC World Darts Championship, but this year it starts on December 11, so it is a guide as to when it will be confirmed for during 2027.

To start the year, we get the usual Q-School tilt, which happens post the PDC World Darts Championship between January 4 and 10, before the Winmau World Masters headlines the end of the month between January 27 and 31. Challenge Tour also kicks off in January.

February then sees the start of the Premier League and the full PDC ProTour season, with multiple Players Championship tournaments featuring the new 128 on the tour as well as fresh European Tour action, Women's Series and Development Tour.

This all feeding in to the UK Open, which, as usual, will take place in Minehead between 5 and 7 March, before that first European Tour in France, which is in late March, followed by Munich with more Women's Series and Challenge Tour action interspersed.

April sees the continuation mainly of the Premier League, including nights in Rotterdam, Brighton, Liverpool and Birmingham, with further tour events in Leicester. May sees the conclusion of the Premier League Darts with Sheffield heading into London with dates confirmed last week. While the main event in June is multiple visits to Germany with the World Cup, ProTours also then goes to a German-speaking country in Austria for the European Open.

July sees the World Matchplay, Women's World Matchplay between 17 and 25 July, with ProTours to start the month, as well as a European Tour on the eve of the tournament this time around between 9 and 11 July.

August will see European Tour action. All of this is without the World Series of Darts, which is yet to be confirmed. But likely this will fit in during this time in Australia and New Zealand before the Slovak Darts Open, a visit to Ghent to start September. Basel and the World Series of Darts Finals head towards the end of the month, with the Den Bosch tournaments to follow like this year before the World Grand Prix between September 27 and October 3, which will still be in Leicester.

The European Championship is the highlight in October between 26 and 31 October, before we get the Grand Slam of Darts between 6 and 14 November and the Players Championship Finals between 26 and 28 November in Wolverhampton and Minehead.
