PDC Darts Calendar for August 2026: despite the summer break, darts action continues worldwide

August is traditionally a relatively quiet month on the PDC calendar. For many Tour Card holders, it is a perfect moment to ease off and recharge for the decisive phase of the darts year.

Not every top player can enjoy a short break, though. Several big names head to Australia and New Zealand for the World Series events Down Under. In addition, a number of PDC Global Affiliate Tours continue unabated. On several circuits, the season’s climax is approaching, with key spots and titles still on the line. Below is an overview of the full PDC calendar for August.
August 7-9: ADA Tour 17-20
The ADA Tour stages its fifth of six total weekends from August 7 through 9. This newly established tour offers a World Championship berth. With eight events still to play, Raymond Smith is in the best position to secure a place at Alexandra Palace.
August 8-9: PDCNB Tour 9-10
The PDC Nordic & Baltic Tour is also on the schedule for the weekend of August 8-9. Norway’s Oslo provides the backdrop for the penultimate weekend of the circuit, where the race for World Championship tickets nears its conclusion.
After eight of twelve events, Cor Dekker leads the rankings. Daniel Larsson currently sits second. The top two at season’s end earn a World Darts Championship spot.

August 14-15: New Zealand Darts Masters
The Down Under trip opens with the New Zealand Darts Masters on August 14-15 in Auckland. For the second consecutive year, this tournament takes place in Auckland.
In the first round of this World Series event, eight PDC stars face eight players from Australia and New Zealand.

August 14-16: PDC Challenge Tour 16-20

Mid-August sees the PDC Challenge Tour return to action. The fourth weekend of the season takes place in Milton Keynes, where the best players without a PDC Tour Card again have the chance to collect significant prize money and crucial ranking points.
There is plenty at stake. The top three on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit qualify for the World Darts Championship at season’s end, while the top two also receive a PDC Tour Card for the next two years. After the first three weekends, Joe Hunt leads the table. Derek Coulson is second, with Tommy Lishman currently third. Daniel Ayres and Tommy Morris round out the current top five.
August 21-22: Australian Darts Masters
For the fifth straight year, a World Series event will be played in the Australian city of Wollongong. This tournament was previously known as the South Wales Darts Masters, but since 2024 it has been called the Australian Darts Masters.
Eight PDC stars face eight local Oceanian players on August 21-22. Representing the PDC are Gian van Veen, Jonny Clayton, James Wade, Josh Rock, Gerwyn Price, Stephen Bunting, Ross Smith, and Damon Heta. Among the local representatives, Australian darts legend Simon Whitlock will feature.

August 22-23: PDC Women's Series 17-20
The next PDC Women’s Series weekend will be played on August 22 and 23. During these two tournament days, the qualification cycle for the Women’s World Matchplay 2027 also officially begins.
This is the penultimate Women’s Series weekend of the season, so the stakes are high. Beau Greaves recently secured spots at both the Grand Slam of Darts and the World Championship thanks to her Women’s World Matchplay 2025 title. However, three World Championship places and one Grand Slam ticket are still available via the Women’s Series ranking.
At the top of the Order of Merit, Beau Greaves looks out of reach. After sixteen of twenty-four events, the Englishwoman has built a comfortable lead with £29,700 in prize money. Lisa Ashton follows at a respectful distance with £12,500 and is currently her closest challenger.

August 24: World Series Finals Qualifier
The start of a three-day stint in Leicester. A qualifier for the World Series Finals is scheduled on this day, with four spots available for Tour Card holders.
The four winners join the 32-player field for the World Series Finals. The remaining 24 places are allocated via the World Series Order of Merit and the world rankings.
August 25-26: Players Championship 27-28
After a few weeks’ break, Tour Card holders are expected in Leicester on August 25-26 for the resumption of the Players Championship circuit. This also signals the start of a busy autumn, with Pro Tours, Euro Tours, and TV tournaments coming thick and fast.

Playing the Players Championship events is the only route for players to qualify for the Players Championship Finals. The top 64 on the Players Championship Order of Merit after 34 events will take part.
August 28-30: Hungarian Darts Trophy (ET11)
The annual Euro Tour trip to Budapest is scheduled from August 28 through 30. Euro Tour fields feature 48 players. The top 16 of the world rankings and the top 16 of the Pro Tour ranking receive invitations. They are joined by sixteen winners from the various qualifiers.
The defending champion in the Hungarian capital is Niko Springer. The German won last year in a surprise 8-7 final against Danny Noppert.
August 29-30: CDC Tour 8-10

The CDC Tour heads to Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, in early August for the fourth weekend of the season. With the race for World Championship qualification in full swing, players can once again take important steps toward a coveted berth.

- I just think Aspinall loves the razzmatazz rather than real darts, goes on about his walk on and the premier league, loves exhibitions and proposed a 'royal rumble' and i'm not sure if it was him that suggested a Ryder Cup style tournament? I think they do need to look at how the ranking tournaments are treated, the UK Open, Euro Championships, Players' Championship all shoe-horned into four or so days rather than lasting all week and giving more players a chance to be on the big stage.Baphomet03-08-2026
- I play at home against myself, sometimes on Dartcounter, never played league or county. My best average on 501 was 107 which I hit last year. Today I was averaging 94 on a few games of 501, no warm up, just a quick chuck after dinner. I imagine it's a bit different up on stage. I play well at home though and do pretty good for only around 20 minutes play per day. 🙂PaulC02-08-2026
- Indeed I've been to Dublin on numerous occasion the atmosphere was electric and the crowd were always pumped plus the City West was a cool venue. It was a good week away The double start and finish is different and actually very enjoyable but a week in a nothing happening crime riddled city in a soulless stadium does not appeal. - I really enjoyed the Women's Matchplay, Beau seemed slightly nervous but when it mattered, she hit the big scores and required check outs. Both Gemma and Fallon had her on the ropes and were equally unlucky. I wonder what ever happened to Gemma's partner Stephanie Smee, she was a decent player that just disappeared. Good to see her. I would like to see a longer format maybe over Saturday and Sunday. It does work well and this could be an option in the World Championship, a ladies Championship run parallel with the men's like played at Lakeside. Congratulations Beau!richieburnettrocks28-07-2026
