PDC Development Tour Order of Merit Update: Beau Greaves still comfortably on top despite Owen Bates brilliance

Beau Greaves is still comfortably in the lead of the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit after the second tournament weekend of the PDC Development Tour 2025.

Currently, ten of the 24 Development Tour tournaments have been played. Three of the ten tournaments were won by Greaves, who earned a total of £9200. This gives her a lead of 2,200 pounds over number two Owen Bates, who recorded his second tournament victory this weekend and is now on 7,000 pounds.

This is followed by a sizable gap to number three Dominik Gruellich. The German won Development Tour 10 on Sunday and is in third place with 4850 pounds. Ryan Branley (4750 pounds) and Sebastian Bialecki (4750 pounds) are right behind. After Charlie Manby (4175 pounds) in spot six, Bradly Roes follows seventh position at 3650 pounds. Completing the top-10 are Patrik Williams (3600 pounds), James Beeton (3350 pounds) and Cam Crabtree (3175 pounds).

This season has also heralded a major change as for once the names of the past who perhaps used the Development Tour as vehicles to keep their Tour Cards or World Championship spots now cannot. Only those outside the top 64 can in fact play which also rules out Gian van Veen, Wessel Nijman among others. But in the case of Gruellich who won the final event and also Owen Bates, they are not yet in the top 64 so can still play.

The Development Tour is the youth circuit of the PDC. This tour is open to players ages 16 through 23. Players who turn 24 during the season may continue to compete.

At each Development Tour tournament there is a prize pool of 15,000 pounds to be divided. With the prize money, a ranking is established. At the end of the season, the numbers one and two receive an invitation to the World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2026 and 2027. The ranking winner also gets to compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
