Six darters were highlighted on Tuesday prior to the second Players Championship tournament of the season for throwing a nine-dart finish.
Players who throw a nine-darter on the PDC Tour receive a so-called nine-dart pin for doing so. This is gold in color when a nine-darter is thrown on a television tournament, and silver when the perfect leg is thrown a floor tournament.
Since 2024, nine-dart finishes at a Euro Tour tournament also count as a perfect leg at a televised event. As a result, Cor Dekker was awarded a gold pin. The Dutch Norwegian threw a leg in nine darts in his match against Stephen Bunting at the Hungarian Darts Trophy last year.
In addition, Dimtiri van den Bergh, Christian Kist and Damon Heta also received gold pins. Kist and Heta managed to produce a nine-darter during the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. For this they also received a huge cash bonus of 60,000 pounds from tournament sponsor Paddy Power.
Van den Bergh recently threw a perfect leg at the Winmau World Masters and thus also got to pick up his reward. Dave Chisnall and Lukas Wenig received silver pins. Chisnall threw a nine-darter on the Pro Tour in 2024, and Wenig at the qualifying tournament for the World Darts Championship.
Cor Dekker also received a Gold Pin Badge following his memorable nine-darter on the European Tour last year!
