PDC Order of Merit update: Gerwyn Price rises to 7th after Euro Tour title, as Gary Anderson and Peter Wright suffer drops

Gerwyn Price has made a big leap in the world rankings after his triumph at the European Darts Grand Prix 2026 in Sindelfingen. The Welshman climbs to seventh place on the PDC Order of Merit, underlining once again that he is enjoying a strong season.

Price claimed his tenth European Tour title in Germany, doing so in convincing fashion. Across five matches he averaged close to a ton per visit. The £35,000 top prize brought him not only a new trophy but also a significant rise in the rankings. He overtook the likes of Josh Rock, Stephen Bunting, and Gary Anderson.

It was Price’s second ranking title of 2026. The former world champion was making his first ProTour appearance since his runner-up finish at the European Darts Trophy 2026 in March, but struck immediately. The 41-year-old Welshman is now less than £50,000 behind compatriot Jonny Clayton, who currently occupies fifth place. That puts the status of best Welshman firmly back within reach. In addition, the gap to sixth-placed James Wade is now just £17,000.

Perhaps more importantly, Price has pulled clear of the pack behind him. Positions eight through ten, Rock, Bunting, and Danny Noppert, are separated by less than £15,000. Price now leads Rock by over £15,000 and has broken free of that battle.

Wessel Nijman continues to impress as well. The Dutchman reached the semi-finals in Sindelfingen and thus breaks into the world’s top sixteen for the first time in his career.

Nijman began the year as world number 29, but has climbed no fewer than thirteen places since January. In doing so, he moved past compatriot Jermaine Wattimena and German number one Martin Schindler.

The 25-year-old’s numbers are eye-catching. In 2026 he has already earned £117,250 on the ProTour, more than £32,000 ahead of the next-best player, Chris Dobey. Moreover, Nijman has reached at least the quarter-finals in eight of his thirteen ProTour appearances.

While Price rises and Nijman breaks through, Gary Anderson has lost ground. The Scot was unable to defend his 2024 and 2025 titles in Sindelfingen and was knocked out immediately by Niko Springer.

As a result, Anderson has fallen outside the top ten. Having started the year in sixth, he is now eleventh. That is partly due to his limited schedule: Anderson has played only eight of the fifteen ProTour events this season.

His lead over twelfth-placed Ryan Searle is now just £6,000, leaving him vulnerable to a further slide in the short term.

The outlook is also worrying for Peter Wright. The former world champion lost in the first round to Jeffrey de Zwaan and has consequently dropped outside the top 32.

Wright has endured a difficult season and has reached the quarter-finals of a ranking event only once. For a player of his stature, that is a notable decline.

Niko Springer’s surge, meanwhile, continues. The German reached the last sixteen on a Euro Tour for the third time this season and, as a result, breaks into the world’s top fifty for the first time.

Springer is now 48th and has climbed six places since the start of the year. Notably, he has not held a Tour Card since 2025. That makes him currently the highest-ranked player without a Tour Card.

Krzysztof Ratajski is also a man in form. The Pole reached his second successive European Tour semi-final in Sindelfingen, a first in his career.

That result moves him up to 23rd in the world rankings. Since the turn of the year, Ratajski has climbed five places and recently moved past players like Daryl Gurney and Dave Chisnall.
