Danny Noppert and
Kevin Doets have given the Dutch a perfect start to the
Dutch Darts Masters in Den Bosch. They defeated the numbers four and eight in the world rankings, respectively.
Noppert had little trouble with
Nathan Aspinall, who did not fare well in Den Bosch with an average of 88. Noppert countered with an average of 95.68. A 12-darter in the third leg gave 'The Freeze' a break ahead and Noppert did not give it away. An 11-darter gave him a further lead of 5-1, before Aspinall could take a second leg. Noppert then finished the job with a 15-darter.
Doets caused a surprise by eliminating two-time world champion
Peter Wright. The Scot threw just 81 average. Doets showed excellent play as he did at the World Darts Championship and thanks to an average of 98.31, 'Hawk Eye' put a 6-2 result on the scoreboard.
