Devon Petersen made history on Sunday night by becoming the first African player to win a PDC ranking event claiming the
German Darts Championship on Sunday.
Petersen has been one of the most in-form players in darts in 2020 and was close to his first PDC title recently. He missed four match darts in the final of a PDC Autumn Series against Gerwyn Price.
But he put that right by making his first win be on the European Tour where he saw off Jonny Clayton in the final after a tough route through included Jeffrey de Zwaan, Gerwyn Price, Rob Cross, Krzysztof Ratajski and Danny Noppert.
Africa is the fourth continent to deliver a PDC ranking title with previously players from North America, Europe and Oceania claiming titles. First of many for Petersen?
