As well as the German Darts Championship this past weekend, the Development Tour also concluded with
Ryan Meikle and
Keane Barry securing PDC World Championship spots.
Meikle finished on top in the Order of Merit but due to 'The Barber' already holding a two-year Tour Card, he only claimed a World Championship spot.
He won two titles this year to add to his two last year and previous triumphs in 2017 and 2018 in what is his final year on the Development Tour due to turning 24 last month.
Barry on the other hand will not only make a second appearance at the Alexandra Palace but will also claim a PDC Tour Card and join the PDC Tour for the first time with the highly touted BDO and JDC World Youth Champion claiming back-to-back event wins this weekend.
The 18-year-old who has also claimed the coveted Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay will now have his sights set on adding the PDC World Youth Championship to his resume with the Last 96 occurring on Monday. He made the semi-finals last year losing to eventual champion Luke Humphries.
As alluded to also
Berry van Peer will also make his return to the PDC Tour as the second winner of a PDC Tour Card. 'Bionic' is well known for his issues with dartitis but has claimed a Tour Card for the second time after winning through in 2015.
He won one event this year but has been consistent especially in the final weekend and with the truncated season won through ahead of compatriot Damian Mol.
