Devon Petersen wants his results to show on the board as he looks to return to his previous 2020 brilliance which saw him claim a European Tour title and mass plaudits.
Speaking to Oche, he discussed how he got his sponsorships together and seeing darts as a package but he hopes to let his darts do the talking as a result.
“For me darts is a package, it’s not just turning up for tournaments. There’s so much work behind the scenes. To be honest I enjoy that but I now have the best structure in my career. Now I can just concentrate on delivering my best performances,” said Petersen to Oche.
“Now it is time to light a stick of dynamite on my year. I’m not going to sit here and say I’m going to do this or that. There’s been a lot of trash talk for a while in darts, I watch it all. While that is good for the fans and the media, it’s not good for players.
“I will hold my hands up and accept I got dragged into that last year. It was a bit tongue in cheek. But in a social media world, you can’t even say anything as a joke without it getting blown up into a war.
“It is a big waste of energy. It’s a boring cliche by saying that you do your talking on the stage. Phil Taylor would say that and it is very true.
“I need to deliver statements with the darts, it’s as simple as that.”
