The Premier League Darts 2021 will continue on Wednesday May 5 with the second half of the season. In this article we look back at the highest averages thrown during the first league phase.
The highest match average is thrown by José de Sousa at the moment. The Portuguese scored 108.48 points per turn in his match against Jonny Clayton on Night Three. Remarkable about this match is that De Sousa lost 7-3 to Clayton. The Welshman himself came to an average of 105.26, good for seventh place on the list.
Michael van Gerwen provided the second highest average in the first nine rounds of play. This was also recorded on Night Three. Van Gerwen beat Rob Cross 7-3 with an average of 107.58.
Furthermore, James Wade showed excellent form during the second block (Nights 6-9). The Machine posted averages of 105.76, 105.29, 104.01 and 102.93, good for four spots on the list.
Leader Nathan Aspinall finds himself in the list three times. The Asp threw his highest average in the fifth round of play, when he drew 6-6 against Michael van Gerwen with an average of 105.38.
