Petersen opens up on injury troubles: "Ultimately people don't understand the kind of elements that you face"

Devon Petersen reached the latter stages at the 2021 UK Open and during his run, he opened up on his injury troubles.

Petersen suffered a wrist injury last season during his breakout year and like he alluded to was accused of tailing off.

"I had to throw differently to achieve a similar result which I haven't achieved obviously. I think that the injury definitely had a massive impact," said Petersen during the UK Open.

"So you think about it and people go yeah but he's tailed off and all of these things and in my mind, ultimately people don't understand the kind of elements that you face. It's the fatigue, it's staying on the road, it's all these things that factor in."

"I had to dissect my throw before the 2021 season completely and start building from the bottom up in a sense."
