The semi-final line-up is confirmed at the
German Darts Championship with an unseeded player set to be in the final come what may.
This is after
Devon Petersen reached his maiden European Tour semi-final seeing off Krzysztof Ratajski in a 6-3 win. 'The African Warrior' has become one of the most in-form players on the PDC Tour and it is paying dividends.
He had a chance for his first PDC title at the Autumn Series but couldn't convert against Gerwyn Price but could mark his first success ranking wise on the European Tour later this evening.
Kicking off proceedings, he hit a 180 and 129 checkout but Ratajski was right there levelling it up at 2-2 as Petersen missed darts at double but a vital passage of play followed. He broke through with a third 180 and double 16 to make it 4-2.
He took out 81 for a 12-darter and a 5-2 advantage to go one away and despite Ratajski stopping the rot, it proved nothing more than a consolation as Petersen got over the line.
He will now play
Danny Noppert who is the only other player who has not won a European Tour albeit having claimed success on the ProTour but he saw off defending champion Daryl Gurney to also continue a great weekend.
He did so with a trio of ton-plus checkouts in 130, 103 and 121 to defeat Superchin 6-2 with a 99.3 average and 6/7 on the doubles to boot as the Dutchman's excellent weekend continues in Hildesheim.
