Pipe out of 2021 UK Open after positive Covid test

Justin Pipe will not be involved at this weekend’s UK Open after testing positive for Coronavirus before the tournament begins on Friday.

Pipe was the only player/event personnel to test positive with everyone on site arriving pre tournament in Milton Keynes for routine testing with a bubble formed.

‘The Force’ will now head home and self isolate according to government guidelines.

The field now sits at 151 with Cristo Reyes and Florian Hempel joining Wesley Harms, Robert Marijanovic, Daniel Larsson, Michael Unterbuchner, Darren Penhall and Boris Krcmar in withdrawing from the tournament today.

Pipe was scheduled to play Luke Humphries in round three but instead the latter will now receive a bye to the fourth round and will enter with the top 32 players on Friday night when the draw takes place.
