Players Championship 2 reaches last 16 stage with Gary Anderson vs Andy Baetens and Peter Wright vs Cameron Menzies among ties

The second Pro Tour of the year is nearing it's conclusion in Wigan. Among the players into the last 16 at Players Championship 2 are Gary Anderson and Peter Wright.

Wright notched a hard-fought 6-5 victory over Michele Turetta, to set up an all-Scottish tie with Cameron Menzies while Anderson now faces the current Lakeside champion, Andy Baetens after a 6-2 win over Daryl Gurney.

Gian van Veen also is through, he won 6-3 in the third round against his compatriot Berry van Peer. In the last sixteen another compatriot awaits, as Raymond van Barneveld will be the opponent. The Dutchman triumphed 6-4 against Karel Sedlacek.

Elsewhere, Paul Krohne stunned Nathan Aspinall 6-5 and yesterday's losing finalist, Ryan Searle is on another deep run after a 6-2 win over Adam Hunt.
