Players Championship Order of Merit Final Update: Gerwyn Price finishes top, Littler & Humphries survive scare to reach Minehead, Van Gerwen outside top 64

The 34th and final Players Championship event of the year took place yesterday in Wigan, with Wessel Nijman claiming the title after an 8–5 victory over England’s Luke Woodhouse in the final. This means the final Order of Merit standings are official and the 64 qualifiers for the Players Championship Finals have now been confirmed.

The Players Championship Order of Merit was topped by Gerwyn Price. The 40-year-old Welshman, who picked up four Players Championship titles this season, earned a total of £103,000 in prize money to secure the No.1 seeding for Minehead. Price previously reached the Players Championship Finals decider in 2019, losing 11–9 to Michael van Gerwen.

Nijman’s triumph in the final event of the year sees him climb to second place in the rankings. The 25-year-old Dutchman, who also won two Players Championship titles this season, finishes just behind Price with £98,000 in prize money. This will be Nijman’s second appearance at the Players Championship Finals, having exited in the last 64 a year ago.

The top three is completed by Damon Heta. “The Heat” also claimed two Players Championship titles in 2025, collecting £92,500 – the same total as fourth-placed Ross Smith.

World No.1 Luke Humphries just managed to scrape into the field, finishing 58th on the Order of Merit. The 30-year-old Englishman, who won the Players Championship Finals in both 2023 and 2024, will therefore return to defend his crown – but only just.

World champion Luke Littler was also by no means certain of his place for a long while this season. After some bright showings in the final few weeks, including a Players Championship title win, The Nuke eventually claims 36th spot overall.

Not all the big names managed to crack the 64 however. Most notably of all, Michael van Gerwen ends outside of the Minehead qualification spots. He'll be joined on the sidelines by other big names such as Mensur Suljovic, José de Sousa and more.

The Players Championship Finals take place from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 November, at their traditional home of Butlin’s Minehead Resort.
