This afternoon in Rosmalen, Netherlands, the 3rd tournament of the yearly Players Championship circuit is being played out. According to Daryl Gurney though, conditions in the venue are far from ideal.

Gurney, who beat Bradley Brooks in the opening round before falling to defeat against George Killington in the last 64, took to his official Facebook page afterwards in order to vent his frustrations. "Really disappointed with the playing conditions today in Rosmalen. The venue is freezing, and no consideration of the location for players. A bad decisions on the PDC’s behalf and the players deserve better!!!" Gurney fumed.

As it turns out, Gurney wasn't the only PDC Pro to be complain either. Justin Hood, who won his Tour Card at Q-School earlier this year, kept his complaints short but sweet. "I'm not one to complain about venues or line-ups, but wow," he said.

For darters, who depend on a stable environment for optimal performance, factors such as cold and poor playing conditions can be disastrous. For example, too low a temperature can affect the grip of the darts. For now, the PDC has not responded to the players' criticism. It remains to be seen whether action will be taken to improve the conditions. At a tournament in Kalkar last year, heat blowers had been installed in the venue, but that too subsequently led to complaints. Indeed, the result was that there was too much wind in the venue.
