Players Championship Order of Merit update: Chris Dobey claims top spot on ranking after winning title in Rosmalen

Chris Dobey is the new leader on the Players Championship Order of Merit. 'Hollywood' took over Gerwyn Price's leading position after Dobey managed to win the floor tournament in Rosmalen on Monday night.
It was already his second Players Championship final of the year for Dobey, after the Englishman previously reached the final of Players Championship 2 and lost it to Price.
The Welshman is now 6,500 pounds behind the new leader. Behind them follow Rob Cross and Joe Cullen, before Jelle Klaasen makes his appearance in fifth place. Klaasen made it to the final of a Players Championship tournament on Monday for the first time since 2015, but ultimately had to leave the title to Dobey.
Playing Players Championship tournaments is the only route for players to grant themselves entry to the Players Championship Finals. At the end of the season, the 64 best players get to compete in the final tournament in Minehead.

- Likewise, I have always been a fan of Mervyn and with this worry on his mind, it explains why his form and ranking plummeted. It is really sad to hear this, often chatted to Mervyn and Tracey during the Lakeside days, both are lovely people.
