"Playing on the Development Tour and the Challenge Tour is helping my game": Beau Greaves reaping rewards of further opportunities

Beau Greaves again made a big splash at the PDC Women's Series last weekend. After losing the overall win in Women's Series 5 to Finland's Kirsi Viinikainen, she then put things in order by winning all three tournaments 6, 7 and 8. Greaves of course further strengthens her leading position in the Women's Series, she already counts 6400 pounds more than the number two, Lisa Ashton.

In the fifth tournament, Greaves surprisingly lost to Katie Sheldon as early as the last 64. In the sixth tournament, she defeated Ashton in the final, Sheldon in the seventh and finally, in the eighth, she was too strong for Robyn Byrne in the final.

Greaves thus confirmed her excellent form, which she had also shown a week and a half ago at the UK Open. There she won three matches against men only to lose in the fourth round 10-7 to world number one Luke Humphries. It earned her particular applause, not least from Humphries himself, who was particularly complimentary of Greaves and hopes to see her capture a PDC Tour Card as soon as possible.

“I was pleased to win a title yesterday, and I came into today with the same attitude," said Greaves on her triumph on Saturday and that she is now looking to reach the next level.  

Despite her successes, Greaves certainly still sees room for progression. “I still want to be more consistent. I’m looking for that next level now, and I’m trying to be as competitive as possible on the ProTour and all the other tours that I play.

“Playing on the Development Tour and the Challenge Tour is helping my game, and having the opportunity to play these top players on the ProTour is lovely. I’m really looking forward to this week now.”  

Greaves will be in action today and tomorrow at Players Championships 5 and 6 in Leicester.
