Beau Greaves' title charge in Milton Keynes has got everyone in the darts world glazing the 22-year-old, singing her praises after making history by becoming the first women to win a PDC ranking title in Players Championship 11. The latest of which, Vincent Van der Voort, was hugely impressed with how she got through the entire day enroute to defeating Michael Smith 8-7 in the final.

It was not an easy run for 'Beau 'n' Arrow.' She took down Rob Cross in the quarterfinal before defeating a rampant Gary Anderson 7-1 in the semi-final. The two-time world champion had averaged 110 and 108 in his prior two matches along with pinning a nine-darter, but that did not halt Greaves in her tracks.
She set up a final against 'Bully Boy' in which she was pushed to a last-leg decider. With the 2023 world champion on double 10 for the match, Greaves took out 142 on double 11 which was met by an emotional reaction as the realisation of what she achieved dawned on her.
"Truly a beautiful story, incredibly impressive," Van der Voort said on Darts Draait Door. "And just take a look at the whole day: she didn't get lucky and didn't just breeze through. It was all done with very good play and she beat Rob Cross and Gary Anderson, who were both throwing very well as well. And then to show it in the final against Michael Smith... Pure class."

History made - but what is next?

Greaves has already made a lasting impression on the PDC Tour despite not having a tour card for that long. She has participated in the Grand Slam of Darts, UK Open and PDC World Darts Championship while featuring in numerous floor tournaments before earning her spot on the tour. She has pinned a nine-darter against Mensur Suljovic while, away from the ProTour, defeated world number one Luke Littler in a herculean effort.

Despite all of that, this seems to be the biggest achievement of them all. "When you look at her throw, her level, and everything surrounding it, it's actually not that surprising that she wins," Van der Voort explained.
"We just haven't seen a woman achieve this before, so it is certainly open for discussion. Her throw is so good that if she gets the dartitis under control, she could easily keep it up for a whole day. And this time she proved that. Truly impressive."
While this feat is remarkable, there is still more for Greaves to complete in the sport. She is yet to make her European Tour debut yet, and there are whispers of her challenging for major tournaments in the future.
"We haven't seen her on the Euro Tour yet. She is starting to play better and better, and a title like this is good for her self-confidence. Potentially, she can reach the world's top 32; I am convinced of that. But will it happen? We will have to see over the rest of this year how this continues. She plays too well not to make the Euro Tour, so that is the next thing she should be able to achieve."
