In the run-up to the resumption of the Premier League Darts 2020 on August 25, Dartsnews looks back on the performances per player in the first six weeks of the competition. This time, Nathan Aspinall is in the spotlight.

Aspinall started well in his first full season in the Premier League Darts. He grabbed seven points in his first six matches as he currently sits on the fourth place. With a little more luck, the situation would have been even brighter. Nevertheless, The Asp almost secured his place in the second league phase.

The Englishman had an easy start to the competition with a 7-3 victory over 'challenger' John Henderson. A week later he suffered an unnecessary 7-5 defeat to Rob Cross in Nottingham.

Aspinall then won twice against a player who was at the top of the Premier League at that time. On February 20, Michael van Gerwen was edged out by the former UK Open champion and he followed up this win with a 7-5 victory over Glen Durrant.

However the Stockport ace only earned one point in his last two matches. On the fifth night he ran into a superb Peter Wright, who averaged 110 in a 7-3 triumph. In the following week, The Asp himself put in a high average (107.64), as he became from a deficit to claim a draw against Gary Anderson.

Aspinall will take on Gerwyn Price, Daryl Gurney and Michael Smith in his three remaining matches of the first league phase.
