We have arrived at the penultimate night of play in Premier League Darts. This week the Premier League players are visiting Leeds, which has been part of the touring darts circus for many years.

With two nights left in the regular season, there are only two spots available for the playoffs. Last week in Aberdeen, Luke Littler and Luke Humphries managed to qualify definitively for the final night in London on Thursday, May 23.

The battle for the final vacant spots is between Nathan Aspinall, Michael van Gerwen and Michael Smith, with the latter needing to make up three and two points respectively.

Van Gerwen faces an important match Thursday night against the already eliminated Gerwyn Price. 'The Iceman' can play freely, but is just returning from injury. A pinched nerve in his back prevented Price from playing the previous round of play and he also missed the past Euro Tour tournament.

The advantage for Van Gerwen is that Aspinall and Smith also face each other in Leeds, so at least one of them will spill points. The fourth and fifth of the standings after this round will play each other in the last round. That could possibly be a decider towards the play-offs.

Luke Littler can finally secure first place in the league standings Thursday night. The 17-year-old teenage sensation has an eight-point lead over number two Luke Humphries. Littler will play number last Peter Wright on Thursday, while Humphries will face Rob Cross. Should Littler win over Wright, Littler may not win any further matches and Humphries must take the last two weekly titles to still take over first place from Littler.
