Sixteen players remain in the race for the title at the 2025 World Series of Finals at the AFAS Live in Amsterdam. Saturday night, the eight games from the second round will be played to determine which players get to start Sunday's final day. It is the 11th time the final tournament of the World Series circuit has been played. With the exception of 2020, the tournament has been played in the Dutch capital since 2019.
In 2024, it was
Luke Littler who got to hold up the cup in Amsterdam. In the first round, "The Nuke" escaped elimination against Ross Smith (6-5), but then the teen sensation won over Raymond van Barneveld (6-4), Chris Dobey (10-7),
Michael van Gerwen (11-4) and Michael Smith (11-4) to take the title.

The second round gets underway with a duel between Mike de Decker and Damon Heta. De Decker won 6-3 against Gabriel Clemens in the first round on Friday night, but his game was not really sparkling. His average ended at 89.15, although that was mainly due to the many missed doubles (6/23). Heta had a much better day. The Heat was 6-1 too strong for Joe Cullen and recorded a monthly average of 96.06 per turn. In the head-to-head, Heta leads 3-2 against De Decker, but it was the Belgian who won the last two encounters. The last time was at the 2024 World Grand Prix, the tournament that ultimately proved to be the big break for "The Real Deal.
Danny Noppert v Josh Rock
Josh Rock emerges next to face Danny Noppert. 'The Freeze' pulled off a nice stunt Friday night by defeating number one Stephen Bunting 6-4. His average of 92.59 was not very special, but on the doubles he was as strong as ever with a finishing percentage of 50 percent. Josh Rock also showed a fine performance in the first round. Krzysztof Ratajski was comfortably beaten 6-3. In the Head-to-Head between these two players, it is now 2-2. Noppert won the first two showdowns in 2022 and 2024, but the two confrontations in 2025 both went to Rock.
Luke Humphries v Kevin Doets
Then it is Luke Humphries turn as he takes on Kevin Doets. Doets seemed to give up a spot in the last sixteen on Friday after he squandered a 5-3 lead against Jermaine Wattimena. To his relief, however, he saw Wattimena miss four match darts in the leg decider. Doets was then able to strike himself via double 15. Luke Humphries also needed the full eleven legs to secure a spot in the second round. Against James Wade, 'Cool Hand Luke' turned a 4-5 deficit into a 6-5 victory, after Wade had missed two matchdarts in the deciding leg. On the Development Tour in 2019, Doets already managed to win over Humphries once, but on the senior circuit, the Dutchman is still waiting for his first win over the World No.1. The three encounters on the PDC Pro Tour were all won by Humphries.
Rob Cross v Michael van Gerwen
Then it is Michael van Gerwen. The triple world champion was immediately behind on a break against a strong playing Wessel Nijman and had to play the last leg against the darts. In the deciding leg Van Gerwen struck after all, and with an average of 104.75 and a finishing percentage of 50 percent, "Mighty Mike" also gave the Dutch audience value for money. This hard-fought victory earned him a duel with Rob Cross. 'Voltage' won 6-3 over Haupai Puha in the opening round. In the head-to-head Van Gerwen has a large 30-14 lead against the former world champion, but if we zoom in on the last matches between them we can see that Cross is on a roll. Indeed, seven of the last nine matches have gone to the Englishman.
Can Michael van Gerwen make the Dutch public cheer again?
Gerwyn Price v Raymond van Barneveld
That Raymond van Barneveld is still in the tournament may be called a miracle. The five-time world champion survived six match darts in his match against Cor Dekker on Saturday afternoon.
Gerwyn Price had an easier time in the first round. The Welshman was 6-1 far too strong for Danny Lauby. Positive for Van Barneveld is that he has a positive record against 'The Iceman'. In the balance, the Dutchman leads 9-7, although the last three all went to Price.
Chris Dobey v Cameron Menzies
Chris Dobey and Cameron Menzies also face each other for a spot in the quarterfinals of the
World Series of Darts Finals. Dobey won 6-2 over Luke Woodhouse in the eighthfinals on Saturday afternoon, while Menzies recorded a fine 6-3 victory over two-time world champion Peter Wright. Should Menzies win this match, it would be only the second time for 'Cammy' to reach the quarter-finals of a televised tournament at the PDC. His record against Dobey, however, is not one to write home about. Of the previous seven matches, Menzies won only one.

Luke Littler v Jonny Clayton
One of this evening's headliners is the clash between Luke Littler and Jonny Clayton, respectively number two and six in the world rankings. Littler was put to work in the first round by Simon Whitlock, but 'The Nuke' won 6-4. Clayton had no problems with Jason Brandon, reaching the second round after a whitewash victory over the American. It will be only the fourth time Littler and Clayton will meet in an official match. Of the three previous encounters, two were won by Littler.
Dave Chisnall v Ross Smith
The evening concluded with an English friendly between Dave Chisnall and Ross Smith. 'Chizzy' managed to get through the first round with a 6-2 victory over Nathan Aspinall, while Smith was responsible for eliminating Jonny Tata. It was not easy, as the New Zealander was defeated just 6-4. Looking at the mutual balance, Smith has an advantage against Chisnall. Smudger' won eight of the previous fourteen duels.
