Price after ruthless demolition of Wright in Dublin: “I feel like I’m in the tournament now”

Gerwyn Price produced brilliance last night to pounce on an out of sorts Peter Wright and produce a 7-1 demolition win as the Premier League hit Dublin.
The duo shared the opening legs before Price hit six in a row including a 10 dart leg and he said afterwards that he has announced his arrival to the Premier League with that win.
He also admitted himself that Wright want at his best and that he believes it was just a blip that he will recover from.
"It's a very good win for me," said Price. "I've had three draws so it's nice to get the win and get my campaign underway, and I feel like I'm in the tournament now.
"I was a bit edgy and I wasn't at my best, but I'll take a 7-1 win over Peter any day of the week. Peter wasn't scoring well and he didn't perform tonight, but he will come back from this."

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
