The first few games have been completed in the afternoon session at the Players Championship Finals with Gerwyn Price and James Wade in particular moving through.
Price continued his imperious run of form as of late to begin proceedings by whitewashing Keegan Brown 6-0 with a 95 average and 55 percent on the doubles.
Despite Van Gerwen still being involved as of now, Price will remain as one of the main favourites to lift the trophy tomorrow and based on this tie; who can bet against 'The Iceman'.
On the other end, Wade dispelled a poor run of form with an impressive display of doubling. He ended up easing past Ricky Evans 6-1 with a 96.7 average for a place in the last 16 and alongside that he hit 6/9 on the doubles.
On the other board, John Henderson closed out a 6-3 victory over Simon Whitlock with a brilliant finish to proceedings with a 156 checkout and the difference was 6/8 on the doubles as similar to Wade, it was a clinical display.
Ryan Meikle also continued his form. 'The Barber' came from 3-0 down to edge out a tough opponent in Darius Labanauskas in a last leg decider. The Ipswich ace has been in good form for some time on the periphery
