Price withdraws from Players Championship double header in Barnsley

This weekend's field in Barnsley at Players Championship 5 and 6 will be without Gerwyn Price with the World Number Two struggling with injuries as of late.

Price who reached the semi-finals and battled a hand injury which saw him withdraw from Brighton's Premier League and the requisite European Tour.

But he returned in Nottingham defeating the in-form Michael van Gerwen before losing to Michael Smith. Taking to Instagram, he revealed that 'more rest' was needed and he was definitely 'not right' with the announcement he would skip this weekend (below).

This means Peter Wright, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, Joe Cullen and Jonny Clayton pending any late withdrawals will be the top names this weekend when the draw is released in a few hours' time.
