Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price have joined the last four at the Hungarian Darts Trophy in Budapest. They will meet later this evening in the first semifinal of this Euro Tour tournament.
Humphries wasted little energy against Luke Woodhouse. Thanks to an average of 100.20, 'Cool Hand Luke' put a 6-0 final score on the scoreboard. The Englishman threw an 11-darter and a 13-darter, among others, to get his legs in.
Price cleverly avoided elimination by making up a 1-5 deficit against Damon Heta. In the eighth leg, Heta missed a matchdart, after which Price managed to undo one break via double 8. A 15-darter and a 12-darter then made it 5-5. Price then decided the match with a 17-darter.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
