Gerwyn Price is into his second UK Open final after a 11-4 victory over fellow Welshman, Jonny Clayton as his brilliant form continues.
Price will face either Michael van Gerwen or Daryl Gurney shortly; after 'The Iceman' averaged 102.3 and hit five 180's with 44 percent on doubles compared to 24 percent only from his opponent.
It began very comfortably for Price with him racing into a 5-0 lead; with a brilliant 113 average with Clayton down at 80. It was looking very ominous for him at this point.
Clayton finally got off the mark and trailed 5-1, Price started to miss doubles and Clayton cleaned up 88 to peg it back to 5-2 down with a break of throw.
Price stopped the rot of sorts of three consecutive legs to keep him at arms length with a 109 checkout and at the next break he was sitting pretty at 7-3 up.
Clayton's consolation came in the requisite leg; with 'The Ferret' hitting his first 180 and claiming a break of throw to close the gap to 7-4.
Price though reeled off all the legs from there including a 112 checkout to put him on the verge of victory. Could he avenge his previous defeats in finals on the Minehead stage?
