Gerwyn Price has added a PDC Winter Series title with a superb display against Damon Heta to claim it 8-6.

Price edged past Reece Robinson in the first game of the day but from there, he produced his class to make it eight titles for 2020 after his World Cup of Darts win last weekend.

He said afterwards that he will go home for tomorrow and be back for Saturday which means it won't be back-to-back but it is another title nonetheless.

Price produced a strong start to proceedings with an 87 checkout taking an early break against Heta but the Aussie produced back-to-back legs to hit the front at 2-1.

The former missed darts to hold but was fortunate as Heta missed two for the break and Price capitalised with a last dart in hand on double 10 to make it 2-2.

Heta though took the lead at 3-2 up with a 74 finish to frustrate Price but he again missed darts at double and Price levelled at 3-3 from there.

A poor leg from Price saw Heta hit 52 to lead again at 4-3. A 180 and double 20 saw Price once again make it level at 4-4.

But it was 'The Heat' who turned up the pressure to begin his throw with a 180 and a 46 checkout to continue a pattern.

Price left 40 on Heta's throw with the latter at 149 and it was a timely break for 'The Iceman' to make it 6-5. Price was excellent on his throw but missed a chance for 7-5 and one away and Heta missing double 19 for a 155 didn't make that mistake again as he made it parity at 6-6.

Price couldn't get a treble for 119 but Heta couldn't get a shot at 100 and a clinical 66 saw Price go one away with a break.

It was Price's turn to leave 100 and Heta couldn't get a shot at 140. The former couldn't get a shot at tops-tops but Heta handed it on a plate missing three to break. But he didn't accept this with Price missing two for the title.

Heta busted his score on double one though and Price looked at double two which he pinned to edge through.
