Price claims PDC Winter Series Day Three title with superb victory over Heta dartsnews.com/pdc/price-clai…
The final has been confirmed on Day Three of the PDC Winter Series with Gerwyn Price set to face off against Damon Heta shortly.
Price has been class all day while not reaching his usual high heights and he showed that against William O'Connor with an average of 98 seeing him through in a 7-3 win.
For Heta, he ended the day of Callan Rydz who was through to his maiden PDC ranking semi-final but the Bedlington ace couldn't go any further with a 7-5 defeat to 'The Heat' who concluded it with an excellent 74 checkout.
An interesting stat is that he has reached two prior finals winning both at the Brisbane Darts Masters and at the Autumn Series but can he take a Winter Series title today?
Semi-Finals
Gerwyn Price (98) 7 | 3 (99) William O'Connor
Callan Rydz (95.3) 5 | 7 (94) Damon Heta
Final
Gerwyn Price - | - Damon Heta
The semi-final line-up is confirmed as the latest PDC Winter Series is close to being completed.
Gerwyn Price is still involved with 'The Iceman' edging past Stephen Bunting in a 6-4 victory to book his place and he will next take on William O'Connor with 'The Magpie' due to the timings of the games, the first through with a 6-3 win over Ryan Searle.
But the main story comes from the other half of the draw with Callan Rydz through to his first PDC semi-final.
The Bedlington ace went 5-0 up on Ian White and despite 'Diamond' threatening a late comeback, he kept his cool and won through 6-2 with a 102 average.
Awaiting him is Damon Heta, a winner on the PDC ProTour in his debut year, he will aim to make it a double after a 6-2 win over the surprise package of Krzysztof Kciuk who has been excellent this week.
Gerwyn Price (95.9) 6 | 4 (93.8) Stephen Bunting
William O'Connor (92.8) 6 | 3 (87.6) Ryan Searle
Callan Rydz (102.0) 6 | 2 (96.9) Ian White
Krzysztof Kciuk (92.1) 2 | 6 (99.5) Damon Heta
Gerwyn Price - | - William O'Connor
Callan Rydz - | - Damon Heta
The Quarter-Final line-up has been confirmed on the third day of the PDC Winter Series with two proven ProTour winners headlining proceedings.
They are Ian White who has had a barren spell this week but will look to add a second title of the year on the Players Championship series after averaging 105 to defeat Vincent van der Voort 6-3.
He will next take on a quality operator though in Bedlington ace, Callan Rydz. Can 'The Riot' deliver on his undoubted promise today?
As alluded to below, Gerwyn Price was first through after steaming past Jeff Smith and now 'The Iceman' will aim to dodge 'The Bullet' in the form of Stephen Bunting who ended the run of Jan Dekker 6-4.
Ryan Searle is a winner on the ProTour this year and will look to add another. He defeated Madars Razma 6-4 and has William O'Connor next in his sights. Then it is Krzysztof Kciuk who has produced another run today and he will take on Damon Heta who averaged 103 in seeing off Ross Smith. Who will win today in Coventry?

Stephen Bunting 6 | 4 Jan Dekker
Ryan Searle 6 | 4 Madars Razma
William O'Connor 6 | 5 Jonny Clayton
Callan Rydz 6 | 5 Simon Whitlock

Krzysztof Kciuk - | - Damon Heta
Gerwyn Price is the first player through to the Quarter-Finals on Day Three of the PDC Winter Series after seeing off Jeff Smith in a 6-0 whitewash win.
Price this week will likely always start from the second round due to Gary Anderson withdrawing leaving the field short and he seems to have got into his rhythm averaging 99 in victory.
This came after a closely fought victory over Reece Robinson 6-5 in the second round. Most of the Last 16 action has begun with Justin Pipe and Damon Heta just finishing their Last 32 clash.

The Last 16 line-up has been all but confirmed on the latest day of action at the PDC Winter Series with Michael Smith not set to make it a hat trick.
A 6-4 defeat to a familiar adversary in Ross Smith ended the hopes of the St Helens ace taking all three titles so far this week.
Gerwyn Price could be the latest winner with 'The Iceman' now looking to be one of the favourites to take the title after easing past Gavin Carlin 6-1. He will now face Jeff Smith who produced one of the performances of the round averaging 104 to see off Ryan Murray 6-2 who himself averaged 102.
Nathan Aspinall after a barren spell so far this week is also through after defeating Ryan Joyce 6-2 while similarly there was a 6-4 win for ProTour stalwart, Ian White over Ritchie Edhouse.

Gerwyn Price still might but he only just edged past Reece Robinson in a 6-5 win. He of course has only just started his campaign with a first round bye due to Gary Anderson's withdrawal so starts off cold but this time he came through.
